2026 Fall Programs

Missoula Youth Hockey offers a variety of fall hockey programs to help players of all ages develop their skills and prepare for the upcoming winter season. Explore the options below to learn more or contact us with questions about where your player fits.

Termite & Mite (6U/8U)

Lead Coach: John O’Bannon

Who: Birth years 2021-2018 (ages 5-8)

When: Wednesdays, September 9-October 21, 2026 (seven weeks)

Time: 4:15-5:15 pm

Cost: $136.50

Players participate in drills and games that improve forward and backward skating, stickhandling, passing, and shooting skills. Sessions are based on USA Hockey’s American Development Model, with an emphasis on skill development and fun.

New players should complete at least one Learn to Play Hockey session before joining house hockey and be able to perform most Learn to Skate USA’s Hockey 1 and 2 skills.

House Hockey (10U/12U/14U)

Who: Birth years 2017-2012 (ages 9-14)

When: Wednesdays, September 30-October 21, 2026 (seven weeks)

Time: 6:45-7:45 pm

Cost: $108

House players will prepare for the winter season during this four-week session. Players share the ice for a combined American Development Model practice featuring station drills and small-area games.

Players are encouraged to complete at least one Learn to Play Hockey session before joining house hockey, and should be able to perform most of Learn to Skate USA’s Hockey 1 and 2 skills.

Space is limited, and travel players are encouraged to participate in other programs.

Foundations Clinic: Skating and Puck Skills

Lead Coach:  Jordan Chase, MAYHA Coaching Coordinator

Who: House and Travel Players, 10U-High School

When: Mondays, September 28-October 19, 2026 (four weeks)

Times:

  • 10U/12U: 5:30 pm
  • 14U/High School: 6:45 pm

Cost:

  • Skaters – $108
  • Goalies – $54 (limit of 3)

This preseason skills clinic features fast-paced, station-based drills designed to prepare players for the upcoming season. Sessions focus on skating mechanics, including edge control, speed, quickness, and forward and backward stride development, combined with drills and games that incorporate puck protection, stickhandling, and passing.

Goalie & Shooter Clinic (8U-High School)

Who: Birth years 2019-2008 (ages 8-18)

When:  Mondays, September 28-October 19, 2026 (four weeks)

Time: 4:15-5:15 pm

Cost: $80

This split-format clinic is designed for both goalies and skaters. Goalies receive position-specific instruction focused on technique, movement, and situational play. Shooters build scoring skills through high-repetition drills that emphasize accuracy, timing, and finishing.

Bantam and High School Hockey

Who: Birth years 2013-2008

When: Sundays, September 13-October 25, 2026 (seven weeks)

Times: 5:00, 6:15, and 7:30 pm game starts

Cost:

  • Skaters: $189
  • Goalies: $94.50

Middle and high school players compete in weekly games to prepare for the winter season. Checking is not allowed, allowing younger players to develop their skills alongside more experienced players. Volunteer bench coaches keep the focus on fun.

Registration Information

USA Hockey Membership

A 2026-2027 USA Hockey membership is required to register for fall programs and must be purchased separately through USA Hockey.

Register your player using their full legal name. If your player is new, please email a copy of their birth certificate to Registrar@glaciericerink.com unless one is already on file.

New for 2026-2027: Glacier Ice Rink has transitioned to a new online registration system. You’ll need to create a new account before registering, as information from our previous system cannot be transferred.

We primarily communicate through email. Unsubscribing from emails in the FinnlySport system may cause you to miss program information and reminders. For SMS reminders, including weather closures, please provide your cell phone number and mobile carrier so you can receive text messages.

Unless you unsubscribe, we will add your email to our monthly Glacier Ice Rink email newsletter, which includes general announcements and events. You can unsubscribe from this newsletter and still receive youth hockey information.

Financial aid is available for families needing help with registration fees. To apply, complete a Financial Assistance Application. Financial aid covers up to 2/3 of the registration fee.

We also offer the Colin Moffatt Snodgrass scholarship, which is awarded to a travel player and house player each spring. See the scholarship page for complete details.

Equipment rental appointments will begin in late August.

Season-long rental equipment is available for $100 per player. Because our equipment room is staffed by volunteers, rentals are availalble by appointment only.

The University of Montana provides free athletic training services to all youth hockey participants by appointment. Services include injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and concussion baseline and follow-up testing.
