About Glacier Ice Rink

Glacier Ice Rink is Missoula’s community nonprofit ice rink, located on the Missoula County Fairgrounds. Since 1997, we’ve provided affordable hockey, skating, and other ice recreation opportunities for people of all ages and abilities. We’ve grown from our modest beginnings in a converted cow barn into the two-sheet facility we are today.

Each year, we welcome nearly 150,000 visits through hockey, public skating, figure skating, curling, school programs, tournaments, and other community activities. As a nonprofit organization, we do not receive funding from Missoula County. Instead, we rely on program fees, ice rentals, sponsorships, grants, and the generosity of donors to keep our programs affordable and our facility operating year after year.

Our facility features:

  • Two NHL-sized ice sheets – an indoor rink open late August/early September through May and a covered outdoor rink open October through March
  • Eight locker rooms – including four heated spaces
  • Skate shop – featuring drop-off skate sharpening, limited hockey merchandise (skate laces, tape, mouth guards), and hockey and figure rental skates
  • Concessions – available during tournaments and select weekend events
