Travel Hockey

Travel hockey is happening, but we are limited to in-state travel only at this time. We will participate in MAHA league games, and look to travel out of state for tourneys after the new year. As a part of travel hockey fees, you receive MAHA league game ice time, state tournament fees, as well as additional ice slots throughout the season for practice or additional scrimmages. We are not hosting tournaments in 2020, so we plan on giving travel teams extra ice time to replace the tournament entry fee that is normally included in travel team fees.

House Hockey

There are some great changes happening with our house programs that will allow us to have less crowded ice sessions, more puck touches, better coach to player ratios, and more in-house game opportunities. Please see our website for more information!

COVID procedures

We are able to run hockey programs within the guidelines of the county. Each program will be considered its own “pod” and will not interact with other pods. Because of this, we are requiring that players only enter the building 15 minutes prior to their ice time, and must leave the building within 15 minutes of the conclusion of their ice time. We have scheduled 30 minutes between each ice times, which will allow for staff and volunteers to clean and also avoid interaction between programs. We can run safe hockey programs this season with the help of everyone abiding by the rules.

Glacier Ice Rink Phase 2 Policies – updated 8.24.20

Spectators

We are currently working on a plan with the county that would tentatively allow for spectators at games. There will be more details on this as the winter season gets closer. We will also be installing LiveBarn soon. LiveBarn is a subscription streaming service and once it is installed and operational, we will make an announcement.

Other hockey opportunities at Glacier Ice Rink

Because we will have more ice time available due to tournaments being cancelled, we will be bringing in some clinics this winter! We currently have Robby Glantz and Elevated Hockey scheduled for November and December dates. MAYHA players will receive a registration discount if they choose to participate. Watch for registration details later this fall.

We will also host more 3v3 tournaments this fall. Registration opening soon!

  • September 26-27 (mite, squirt/peewee divisions)
  • October 17-18 (bantam/high division)

Plus, there are stick & puck and pick-up hockey sessions scheduled on a regular basis during the season. Due to COVID-19, advance online registration is required and admission to each session is capped.

Morning Skills Clinic with Mike Anderson

New this winter, we have scheduled a morning skills clinic with Mike Anderson, former Jr. Bruins assistant coach and coach at Build Your Game Missoula. Open to squirts and older, this is a biweekly skills clinic offered to players who are looking to gain extra ice time and specialized training under the supervision of Mike Anderson. The clinic will be held every other Tuesday morning 6-7 am, beginning October 27th. There will be a two-week holiday break. This clinic is geared towards experienced players and we recommend players have advanced skating experience. Registration now open.

Goalie Skills Clinics

Open to all ages youth and adults. A biweekly goaltending skills clinic offering goalies specialized training under the supervision of experienced goaltending coaches. The clinic will be held every other Tuesday morning beginning November 3rd. Registration opens September 4th.
