Neck laceration protection is required for ALL youth players during practices and games. Purchasing a neck guard is the responsibility of each player/family and they will not be provided with rental equipment.

The Missoula Area Youth Hockey Association (MAYHA) offers fall programs for players of all ages and abilities. Please read the description of each program and register your player accordingly. All registration is handled online through our DASH software system, and players must have a 2025-2026 USA Hockey number.

We recommend that new players complete at least one Learn to Play Hockey session before entering the house league. Players should be able to perform most of Learn to Skate USA’s Hockey 1 and 2 skills.

Dynamic Hockey Development Program

The Dynamic Hockey Development Program is a comprehensive training regimen designed for players of all ability levels. This fall’s Dynamic Development Program will include a focus on competitive contact and checking skills.

Competitive contact and body checking are key parts of a fast and exhilarating game. Players who wish to play at the top of their game must understand how to give and receive checks safely. This clinic will focus on developing key skills, including angling, positioning, technique, and awareness.

It is important that players of all ages learn the basics of angling and positioning so they are ready for more physical play as they enter age levels where checking is legal. Younger age levels are encouraged to attend these clinics to ensure they have a solid foundation of competitive contact skills that will prepare them for the next level.

Registration

Players will need a 2025-2026 USA Hockey number to register for fall programs. This is done at an additional cost directly through USA Hockey, and please make sure to register your player using their FULL legal name as it appears on their birth certificate. Legal names are required by the registrar and all players must provide a birth certificate if they have not submitted one in a prior season. If your family needs assistance covering the USA Hockey membership fee, you may apply for a USA Hockey Membership Relief Fund Grant.

Register online through our DASH. Use the links above to register directly for each program. When registering, make sure to have your player’s name selected from the dropdown menu. Daysmart will only show programs your player is age-eligible for.

See our Financial Policies for information on registration refunds.

Additional Information

We primarily communicate through email. Unsubscribing from emails in the DaySmart system may cause you to miss program information and reminders. For SMS reminders, including weather closures, please provide your cell phone number and mobile carrier so you can receive text messages.

Unless you unsubscribe, we will add your email to our monthly Glacier Ice Rink email newsletter, which includes general announcements and events. You can unsubscribe from this newsletter and still receive youth hockey information.

Financial aid is available for families needing help with registration fees. To apply, complete a Financial Assistance Application and return it via email or mail before the registration deadline or program start date. Financial aid covers up to 2/3 of the registration fee but does not cover the volunteer obligation amount. Players should still register before the deadline and select the payment plan option. If awarded, the financial aid will be applied to the remaining balance.

We also offer the Colin Moffatt Snodgrass scholarship, which is awarded to a travel player and house player each season. See the scholarship page for complete details.

Rental equipment appointments for the 2025-2026 season will be available starting in late August.
