Y.H. Volunteer Info

League Service

Dear Hockey Families,

League Service Hours are a part of your commitment to Youth Hockey.  These are activities that save the rink money.  In other words you will be doing jobs that the Rink would normally have to hire people to do.  Not everything that you do will count towards League Service.  We have many opportunities and they will be be listed.

There are lots of opportunities for fulfilling your league service committments.  Please contact Sandy sandy@rockinrudys.com for more information.  Our immediate needs are as follows:

1.  Concession workers at all of the Maulers home games.  We need 6 people at each game.  The times are 6:45 until the game is over.  You will need training before you can work in the concession booth.  If you are interested in working one of these games, please contact sandy@rockinrudys.com.

2.  We also need volunteers to sell Scrip at team practices or games at the rink.  These hours will count towards League Service Hours.  Contact Marjie Heyman gomsheyman@montana.com if you're interested and she'll give you the details.

WHEN LEAGUES BEGIN:

1.    Score Keeping/Running Clock for Games.  Check with your team manager, coordinator, or coach to volunteer to run the game clock and keep score, or to work the penalty box.   NOTE:  *No parents will be allowed to sit on the bench with their child unless they have attended coaching clinic and have USA Hockey Coverage.

2.    Concessions.  The Coordinator is Lori Dehart fdehartjr@aol.com.  Concessions is an important source of income for our organization.  It is open and staffed with 6 volunteers for every Maulers home game.  It is expected to be open and staffed by volunteers for all Public Skates, League games, tournaments and camps.  Parents who have completed orientation are welcome to open it during practice times as well.

In order to work in Concessions, you must complete orientation (repeated each year).  Lori will be at the rink every Thursday evening from 6:00-6:45 PM for orientation - just show up.  The trainings will begin at 6:00, 6:15, and 6:30 and wil only last about 15 minutes.

A schedule with available times will be posted in the rink information center once the season starts.  For now, contact Sandy Trenkle to take advantage of this easy and fun way to fulfill your League Service requirements.  Concession hours worked will only count towards League Service hour requirement.

These positions are still available:

1.  MAYHA MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR.  Please contact sandy@rockinrudys.com

2.  MAHA (Montana Amateur Hockey Association) REPRESENTATIVE.  You can help coordinate at the state level. MAYHA is looking for a volunteer to attend MAHA monthly meetings and serve as a co-representative with Dave Miewald. If you are interested in this position, please contact Marjie Heyman for more information. This position reports to the Youth Hockey Committee so please be available to attend those meetings.

3.  Strategic Planning Subcommittee helps Youth Hockey build a vibrant future. We are looking for volunteers to serve on this special sub-committee of the full Youth Hockey Committee. If you are interested in learning more, contact Mitch Ferm mferm@bresnan.net

Team Managers and Team Coordinators are needed. Please let Gary Jahrig gary@glaciericerink.com if you are interested in serving your child’s team.

Youth Hockey Committee Members are always needed.  Anyone interested in serving on the Youth Hockey Committee and getting more involved with Youth Hockey, please contact Marjie Heyman, Chairperson at gomsheyman@montana.com . There’s more work waiting to be done, and these hours will also count toward your League Service commitment!
