The Missoula Bruins had a strong weekend of hockey as the Peewee A team and the Boys Varsity team went undefeated to capture their respective state championship titles.

The Peewee team, playing on home ice at Glacier Ice Rink, beat Billings 10-1 and Helena 4-0 on Friday. They continued their winning streak on Saturday, defeating Whitefish 8-2 and Bozeman 5-2. They played Bozeman again in the championship game and came from behind in the third period to win 3-2.

The Boys Varsity team, playing in Whitefish, downed Flathead 6-0 on Friday, and beat Helena 6-1 and Great Falls 5-0 on Saturday to advance against Billings in the finals. They defeated Billings 3-0.

The Peewee B team, also playing in Missoula, faced the top-seeded Glasgow Sunday morning and won 4-3 on a short-handed goal. The Bruins fell 6-2 to Great Falls to finish second.

The Girls Varsity team won their state championship title last weekend in Butte, which marks three state championship wins for Bruins teams this season. The Bantam team wraps up the season next weekend as they travel to Billings for their state championship tournament.
